University of Texas Electric Vehicle Charging
University of Texas Electric Vehicle Charging, Manor Garage
When the University of Texas began an initiative to modernize their parking garages with electric vehicle charging stations for the public, we were contacted by the University’s Office of Sustainability to perform electrical engineering on a pilot project at Manor Garage. We worked closely with the University’s microgrid operator, tradespeople, project managers and accessibility consultants to set the standard for how electric vehicle charging will ultimately be integrated into all fourteen parking garages at the University of Texas at Austin.
*Although the University produces its own electricity from natural gas, we are hopeful that their commitment to electric vehicles will help to facilitate the adoption of electric vehicles by employees and the public, as well as open the door to future garage roof level photovoltaic system projects.
